About LAPoker.info
There is a very active poker scene here in Los Angeles. The purpose of this blog is to keep everyone informed of this active community. This includes information on local casinos, tournaments, home games, as well as online poker sites and anything else to do with gambling that any poker player might find interesting.
Although I already have another website called cochinoman.com that deals a little with poker, along with gadgets and food, I decided to create a poker/gambling blog because some of my poker friends didn’t want to read about sushi and cell phones. This site has been somewhat dormant since 2014, I’ve decided to write more articles starting in April of 2015, including a complete upgrade of the website to allow for mobile use.
In the future, I’m planning on having a full featured calendar online to show the local tournament schedules. If there’s anything you’d like to see on this site, please feel free to send me a message via the contact page.
About Cochinoman
As far as gambling, I started very early playing roulette at my parents parties, then starting in elementary school, I would have blackjack games where I would be the house covering all bets.
Regarding my poker background, I’ve been playing since 2003 (yes, the Moneymaker factor), and have won several small tournaments, and have cashed at the main event of the World Series of Poker. I like to play live games (cash and tournaments) because of the social aspect as well as practicing my reads. Since junior high school, one of my hobbies was magic tricks, and I consider the skill set for magic to be helpful for poker. No, not for cheating, but for using psychology on the other players. I’m always learning and trying to improve my game.
